Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Alexander Technique in City of London, EC2

With Daska Hatton

It is well established that the way in which we use our bodies and minds affects how we function.  Quite simply, the quality of our thoughts affects the quality of our actions.

We are all aware of the physical effects of excess stress. Problems occur when these tensions become stored in the body disturbing the normal tone and efficiency.

By addressing these tensions through the body rather than the mind we can bypass our familiar mental barriers.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Cranio-Sacral therapy is a subtle and powerful form of listening to the rhythms and stories of the body. It is concerned with the free expression of health, well being and vitality.  It is gentle and completely non-invasive while at the same time profound.

In a typical Cranio-Sacral session, you will usually lie (or sometimes sit) fully-clothed on a treatment couch. The therapist will make contact by placing their hands lightly on your body and tuning in to what is happening by ‘listening’ with their hands.

The first thing you will probably notice is a sense of deep relaxation, which will generally last throughout the session. With subsequent treatments this release of tension often extends into everyday life. The work can address physical aches and pains, acute and chronic disease, emotional or psychological disturbances, or simply help to develop well-being, health and vitality.

As it is so gentle while at the same time so profound, Cranio-Sacral Therapy is of benefit to all ages.

Cranio-Sacral Sessions last for 1 hour and cost £50.

Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique is a practical method of becoming aware of how we use our minds and our bodies in daily activity.

It is a simple and straightforward way in which to improve ease of movement, and coordination. It is a simple and straightforward way in which to improve ease of movement, balance and co-ordination. It is not a series of treatments or exercises, but rather a re-education of the mind and body.

The lessons generally take about 45 minutes and it is suggested initially that a series of weekly or bi-weekly lessons is undertaken.  The cost per lesson is £45.
